Alberta Liberal Caucus Leader David Swann unveils his Shadow Cabinet

Calgary – David Swann, Alberta Liberal Leader has unveiled his Shadow Cabinet in preparation for the upcoming sitting of the Alberta Legislature.

“This is a highly capable team of energetic MLAs who will be demanding action by the government,” said Swann.

Swann will be going into this session in a new role after being recently elected leader by members of the Alberta Liberal Party.

“Our caucus will continue to make sure that the many diverse voices of Albertans are heard,” he continued. “We are looking forward to a session where we will vigorously press for economic diversification and oppose privatized health care.”

Shadow Ministry responsibilities will be as follows:

David Swann, Leader: Health, Executive Council

Laurie Blakeman, Deputy Leader, House Leader: Environment, Culture and Community Spirit

Harry Chase, Whip: Education; Children and Youth Services; Tourism, Parks and Recreation

Kent Hehr: Justice and Attorney General; Solicitor-General and Public Security, Sustainable Resource Development

Darshan Kang: Transportation; Service Alberta

Hugh MacDonald, Chair, Public Accounts: Advanced Education and Technology, Employment and Immigration; Infrastructure

Bridget Pastoor, Deputy Whip: Municipal Affairs; Seniors and Community Supports; International and Intergovernmental Relations

Kevin Taft: Energy, Aboriginal Affairs, Agriculture and Rural Development

Dave Taylor: Finance and Enterprise, Treasury Board, Housing and Urban Affairs
