Dave Taylor was elected to his first term as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the constituency of Calgary-Currie on November 22, 2004. He was re-elected for a second term on March 3, 2008.

After attending the Northern Collegiate Institute and Vocational School in Sarnia, Ontario, and the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, Mr. Taylor entered into a 31-year career in broadcast journalism.

Focusing on public affairs reporting, documentary production and talk radio, Mr. Taylor has worked for a number of Ontario and Alberta broadcast stations.

In addition to his broadcast career, Mr. Taylor was a sessional instructor at the Centre for Communications Studies, Mount Royal College, in Calgary from 2001 to 2002. He is also the winner of two Ohio State Awards of Excellence in Public Affairs Broadcasting (1980 and 1985) and was a finalist in the documentary category of the International Radio Festival of New York in 1985.

Mr. Taylor is an active member of his community.

He and his wife, Martha, enjoy spending family time with their two children. He is also interested in running, bird-watching, travelling, gardening, as well as conservation and the environment.
